Flower Budget:
Most wedding consultants recommend that your entire flower budget should be around 10 percent of your total wedding budget. (ex.-$10,000 total = $1000 floral budget.) Here are some helpful hints to plan your wedding's budget.
1. Figure out your budget ahead of time. Then give it to the Florist and ask what she can do with it as opposed to choosing flowers and then asking what the cost will be.
2. Use flowers that are in season (e.g. lilac, daffodils and lilies in the spring and daisies, asters, and roses in the summer) or flowers that are readily available all year round. (carnations and baby's breath, etc). Imported Blooms (spray Orchids, etc) are the most expensive and will push the price of your flowers higher.
3. Always give us at least 1-month advance notice as we must select and prepare only the "Best" quality floral arrangements. To properly prepare your Wedding Flowers, we must have the proper preparation time.
Florist Consultations:
It is recommended that you select your gown, the bridesmaid's dresses and the overall
wedding theme before visiting your florist. Take fabric samples and
descriptions (pictures are even better) of your selected wedding apparel. Also
have examples of the colors and styles of the mothers' gowns and the attire
of the groom and his attendants. In addition, tell the florist where the wedding and reception will take place.
The florist can take this information you provide and
suggest floral combinations and artistic treatments to create
beautiful floral complements for your wedding.
